Barbados stamps: Seal of Colony 1904-1905

In 1904, the Crown Agents changed the watermark on the paper they were using for the British Colonial stamps from the Crown & CA to the Multiple Crown & CA. The first shipment of Barbados stamps bearing this new watermark were printed under Requisition No. 89/04 and these were invoiced on November 28th and despatched to the Colony.

This change of watermark seems to have passed unnoticed, and the date of issue has not therefore been recorded. However, it would appear from the evidence that the values from One Farthing to Eight Pence were issued between 1904 and 1905, but the highest value did not appear until very late in 1905 or even early in 1906.
